The ZTE Grand X IN is an Android Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone that will have Intel Inside, specifically the Z2460 Atom processor. Those who were skeptical of the ability of ZTE to thrive in the difficult European smartphone market will have to change their mind as the new Grand X IN comes with a decent level of improvement compared to the previous generation. It will first hit the European market in September before getting a worldwide release.
The device could qualify as a worthy successor of the ZTE Grand X and picks up many new forms in its structure and thickness, measuring 127 x 65 x 9.9 mm. Connectivity will come through HSPA+ 21 Mbps using the Intel XMM 6260 Platform; there is also EDGE and HSDPA together with DPA 21 Mbps and UPA 5.76 Mbps. The ICS will run on 1 GB RAM, a 4.3-inch TFT capacitive screen that offers 16 million colors, and 960 x 540 pixels.
ZTE Grand X IN comes with an 8 megapixels rear camera and 1650-mAh battery. It weighs 140.8g when the battery is included. In addition to the energy efficiency of the Intel chipset architecture, users are also getting a ton of goodies such as NFC, FOTA, HD Voice and Dual Mic. More of these are an Accelerator, Compass, Proximity Sensor and Light Sensor. You can watch or capture Blu-ray quality HD video at 1080p that includes Doubly Sound without significantly draining the battery and the same experience will be available while browsing at fast speeds.
The ZTE Grand X IN is a fruition of the collaboration between Intel and ZTE, announced at the Mobile World Congress 2012, and is a first among many Intel based smartphones that we expect from ZTE. There are not many Intel-powered smartphones in the market yet and the success of the new model will be a key pointer on what to expect from other phone manufacturers. What do you think ? Will this phone be a success ?
