Will LG Hit the Tablet Market Once Again?

If you have been interested in the technology niche for a longer period, then you should remember that back in 2011 LG announced their tablet – Optimus Pad. For the time it was revealed the gadget was okay – it had everything – decent display, dual-core processor, and the actual then 3.0 Android. It also presented unique 3D video capturing functionality which was innovative for that time. However, the price of the device was a bit steep and thus the sales were not as good as expected. The final result was bad for LG – the company was not able to apply pressure on the tablet market and therefore they didn’t make any future effort.
Moreover, as you know the tablet market is dominated by iPad and this is probably another reason because of which the company didn’t take any further measures. Don’t worry – here are some good news regarding LG’s comeback in the tablet market. At least most rumors circulating internet state this. The expected launch of the device will by the end of the third quarter of this year.

Interesting fact is there is no official data regarding the OS so we might expect a surprise from LG – they might not use Android, but this is not highly likely. It is also unknown whether or not LG will make multiple versions of the device. As a whole the details are scarce but at least we know that one more worldwide known tech giant will join the rivalry in the tablet market.

Up to this day the tablet market is dominated by the iPad since it holds more than 40% of the whole market share. Right after it comes Samsung with 19%, Amazon and Asus are following with 3.7% and respectively 5.5%. The real question here is whether LG will manage to fit in the market and beat the competition.
