The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is hands down the smoothest, fastest and most effective version of Android that has been released so far. It boasts of great capabilities, well, since it is the latest version. First of all, it is certainly faster and smoother. The new version also not only gives notifications but allows you to act upon them in an instant and allows you to delve deeper to get more information on a specific notification. Its multi-media capabilities are beyond the norm and it has much greater accessibility. The OS is, to summarize it all, is just what any Android fan needs.
You have an Android phone and just can’t wait to get it? Well, most Android phones have slowly been updating to it. When the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was initially being rolled out, it was announced that Motorola Xoom would be among the first to get it. This was confirmed by Motorola and was actually implemented with the Wi-Fi only Xoom receiving the update direct from Google.
Most Verizon Xoom users were however not holding their breath as the carrier is notorious for being quite slow in updating, thus the update for the 4G LTE was not expected to come that soon. This however appears to have been a wrong assumption! It seems Verizon has already begun to roll out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean version for the Verizon Motorola Xoom 4G LTE. This is because a few lucky owners of the device have reportedly gotten the update on their phones already.
At an XDA Developer’s forum, a user claimed that his device had received and was actually running on the final Jelly Bean build for the device. He went ahead to leak the update, which it is claimed, can also run on the 3G model. More people have reportedly received the update also.
It is not clear whether this was a deliberate act or a mistake. Neither Motorola nor Verizon have given any official word concerning the same, and it had been widely believed that with the recent update to the version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version, there would not be any more updates very soon. However there is clearly something cooking, as all the evidence points towards that.
As for now, all that can be done is to wait for the official announcement from Motorola or Verizon on the official update. Keep your ear on the ground though just in case! Check for updates if you will, you just be the next lucky recipient!
