Toshiba Excite 10 SE Android 4.1 Tablet Announced Officially – Specs, Features & Price

The tablet market is all set to accept yet another innovation and this time it’s from Toshiba. The Japanese company has finally confirmed all the rumors that have been floating around in the market about its new tablet by officially announcing its specifications, price and availability. Known as the Excite 10 SE tablet, is an enhanced version of its previous tablet the Excite 10 LE. The tablet looks amazingly impressive on papers but one will have to wait a little to actually see if it is able to create the magic it promises. Let us have a look at its features.

The all new, Toshiba Excite 10 SE tablet is quite similar to its predecessor when it comes to design but one may find it a little heavier weighing 22.6 ounces and is only 0.4 inch thick. The ten inch screen is an autobrite high definition screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Toshiba gives another reason for all the android lovers to try out this tablet as it comes with android 4.1 out of the box. The 1.5 GHz NVidia Tegra3 quad-core processor makes it a little faster compared to its LE version with a 1.3 GHz processor.

The Excite 10 SE hosts a 3 megapixel rear camera while the original version was available with a 5 megapixel camera with features like digital zoom and auto focus but the front camera remains the same. Toshiba might have brought down the camera quality to keep it a low budget tablet because the first gen Excite tablet was available for $450 with the same amount of 16 GB storage. The connectivity options include Bluetooth 3.0 and Wi-Fi. The presence of a micro SD slot gives you an option to increase the storage of the device. The micro USB port can be used to connect the tablet to your system for transferring and charging purposes. The media options are quite good and it supports a number of formats that lets you enjoy your music and videos on the go. One can attach any kind of headphones/earpiece in the 3.5 mm jack.

The tablet will be launched on December 6, just before the holiday season. The Toshiba Excite 10 SE tablet will be available for a price of $350 (with 16 GB of internal storage) that makes it a perfect gift for the near and dear ones and also gives Toshiba a niche over other companies that are a little expensive. One can get one for themselves at toshibadirect.com and a few selected brick and mortar outlets only in black color.
