While the world is all set to taste the android 4.2 jelly bean version, it is a little strange that people in North America are still waiting for the android 4.1 jelly bean update for their the Samsung Galaxy S3. But, there is good news that T-Mobile has finally rolled out the update on their network this week after Sprint who released the update on November 1st. One can easily avail the update either with the help of Samsung Kies software or over the air. However, people on other networks like AT&T, Verizon etc. are a little disappointed since there is no official announcement about the availability of the update. They will have to wait a little.
When talking of Jelly Bean, the Motorola Xoom and the Samsung Google Nexus received it long time back irrespective of the fact that they were already in the market for long whereas the Galaxy S3 which is relatively new is still waiting for it in some countries. However, it has also been announced that nexus S and Xoom will not receive the 4.2 update.
When Samsung announced that Jelly Bean update will not be available for Galaxy S3 it was a little surprising because the same handsets were already updated in other countries. While most of us are blaming Samsung for the delay while all the other devices got it way back but that’s not the case actually. In fact, it is the carriers in USA who are to be blamed this time. What is strange that T-Mobile didn’t even pass any statement that they will offer any such update but instead just came out with it?
The new update for Samsung Galaxy S3 is receiving mixed reactions. While some are happy to receive it as it is a newer and better version, some on the other hand are cribbing that it is still not the latest android 4.2 Jelly Bean update. One can also expect a 4.1 jelly bean update for galaxy S3 on the AT&T network any time soon.
The android 4.1.1 update has also been rolled out in India by Samsung but a few people were complaining that they weren’t notified about the update. The 4.1 JB update for Verizon network has been leaked and is available as a ROM. This is a positive indication that Verizon will soon come out with an official update for its users. So, if you do not want to modify your handset’s Rom just hold on for some time until the OTA version is available.
