Sony Xperia U, Xperia P, Xperia Go and Xperia Sola Getting Android 4.0.4 ICS Update

There is a good news for all the Sony Xperia owners. The company has finally released an upgrade for the remaining handsets of the 2012 Xperia series i.e. the Xperia P, Xperia U, Xperia GO and Xperia Sola. The wait is finally over as the version 4.0.4 firmware update for android ICS finally arrives. The roll outs will be pushed over the next few weeks and will be available globally however one might have to wait a little depending upon their region and carrier. The ICS 4.0 update was available for Xperia P in august while in September for the rest of the three this year. This new 4.0.4 update will make your handset much more stable, enhance its performance and will introduce a number of cool features.

The new update comes along with some amazing Sony media applications that will definitely stun you in the first look that will help you enjoy your pictures, videos and music files at their best. The extended standby mode feature will enable the users to increase their standby time to a great extent as much as four times. The functionality of the lock screen has also been improved and one can now resize the widgets that offer better personalize options. Last but not the least, inclusion of a recent app button can help you to quickly access some frequently used apps.

The Sony Xperia P users will get a notification about the update as soon as it is ready. Then they can update it through over the air or PC companion for windows and Bridge for MAC but it will depend on the carrier and region. On the other hand, if the Xperia U, Go and Sola users have already updated to the ICS, then you can update it over the air as soon as you get a notification but those who are still running the gingerbread version then you will need to update it to ICS first using your system. Sony has also announced android 4.1 jelly bean update for all its new devices from the 2012 series and would be available in the first quarter of 2013.
