In its zest to offer unlocked smartphones of the Xperia series in the U.S., Sony today launched its next model the Xperia Advance in the market. The phone was available all over the world by the name Xperia go earlier this year; the US version is a little smaller but is equally stylish. It was announced a few months back and is now available in the markets. Sony ensures that the new handset will come with the android 4.0 ice-cream sandwich version on board that pays for the wait to a little extent.
The handset is crafted in a way to match up with your rugged lifestyle and is dust and water resistant. It is waterproof up to 39 inches and can stay submerged in water for 30 minutes. The display of the handset is scratch proof and can track wet fingers.
The phone has a 3.5 inch display with a resolution of 480X320. It is powered by a 1 GHz dual core processor and 512 MB RAM that offers satisfying performance. The 5 megapixel camera with the ability to capture 720p videos may not offer cutting edge shots but the quality is decent enough. If one is worried about the storage, then the phone comes with 8 GB internal memory out of which 4 GB is accessible to the users. The phone is available off the contract i.e. in factory unlocked form but only supports 850, 1900 and 2100 HSPA frequency bands. One can use it on GSM GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900.
The phone is available in three different colors i.e. black, white and yellow. Now, a few people argue that the phone does not have any such feature that sets it apart from other available smartphones in the market. However, at a nominal price of $249.99 (it can vary slightly depending upon the color) the phone becomes a favorable option to consider. One can pair it with any carrier of their choice like AT&T, T-Mobile, Fido and many more. If you are interested in buying one you can find a handset for yourself in the stores and with online retailers.
