The android 4.1.1 jelly bean update has finally being pushed for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. However, the update is available only for the Wi-Fi version at the moment. SamMobile.com has confirmed that the update is rolled out but currently only those lining in the UK will be able to enjoy it. There is no official announcement about the availability of the update in other regions but looking at the history of its previous updates, it won’t take too long. Those who have their tablets tied up with specific carriers may have to wait a little longer because carriers usually delay updates for their devices.
Samsung has also released 4.1.1 jelly bean update for the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 recently. The Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 was shipped with android 4.0 ice cream sandwich. The new update may not be the most recent android 4.2 which is already available in Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 10 but ten still it introduces a lot of new and exciting features.
If you want to update your device then you have two methods to do so. The first method involves waiting for the over the air update (which may take some time depending upon your region). This method requires you to wait but saves you a lot of hassles. You will get a notification on your device as soon as it arrives. You can check for it by navigating to the settings menu and then checking update in the about option. The second method involves using the Samsung Kies. For it, you need to attach your device to your system and then follow a few steps. It is much faster than the first method.
There is one more option available in which you can flash the custom ROMs available over the net but we suggest you to follow any one of the two options above because flashing such ROMs may even damage your device if the process is not followed correctly.
