Samsung Galaxy S Advance (GT-I9070) will be Getting Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update in January

Samsung is hitting the news these days for all the right reasons. It has already announced android updates for a few devices and is all ready to update one more device in the coming January. The Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 is next in the line to receive an android update when Samsung has already made clear that some of the handsets of the Galaxy S series will not be upgraded. Samsung Germany has made a small statement through their official Facebook page. However, no specific date has been mentioned about when the update will be rolled out for the android 4.1.2 firmware.

The Galaxy S Advance was released earlier this year in January and is running on the 2.3.6 version of android (gingerbread) currently. The device comes with a 4-inch scintillating touchscreen that has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The 1 GHz dual core Cortex-A9 processor and 768 MB RAM ensures fast and smooth performance without glitches. Another highlight is the 5 megapixel camera. The storage can be expanded with the help of a microSD card. The phone is also commonly known as the galaxy S2 lite.

The phone got some amazing reviews from all over the world. The phone will be directly upgraded to jelly bean skipping the ice cream sandwich android 4.0 version update which is quite unbelievable. Recently Samsung had announced jelly bean upgrades for a host of its other handsets also the top of which is its flagship phone the Samsung Galaxy S3. The Galaxy Beam, Ace 2 and Ace plus are also expected to receive upgrades anytime soon.
