At the recent Mobile World Congress, Samsung has announced its latest 8 inch Android 4.1 tablet called Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 which will surely give tough competition to the other devices like iPad mini, Nook HD, Nexus 7, Kindle Fire HD and many more. This compact tablet measures 210.8 X 135.9 X 8mm in size and weighs around 338 grams which makes it look slim and easy to carry wherever you may go. The tablet has clean and smart looks with smooth edges, rounded corners and S Pen Stylus which is made hidden in the slot at the corner. The 8 inches of TFT capacitive touch screen in the tablet supports pixel density of 189ppi which along with 16M colors and 800 X 1280 pixels resolution offer decent quality. Galaxy Note 8.0 is powered by Quad Core 1.6 GHz of Cortex A9 Exynos 4412 processor which like other high end devices by the company offer good performance speed. Running on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS, the device comes packed with 2GB of RAM and Mali-400MP GPU.
This latest tablet comes with a S Pen Stylus which can be used to conveniently control the navigation and it features hover functionality and 1024 pressure levels. Moreover the stylus is also capable of controlling the physical buttons so that users will not have to swap between their fingers and the stylus while using the device. In order to offer enhanced user experience Note 8.0 also comes with exclusive software features of Touch Wiz. The Air View feature of the phone enables the user to have the short preview of the apps and menu by simply hovering the S Pen over it. Flipboard App and Awesome Note are the other features. Now you can use your Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 as a universal control for various other devices like media players, TVs, set top boxes and others through IR blaster present in it. Moreover this feature will not only enable you to work with Samsung products but with others as well.
Connectivity in the device is provided through multiple options of WiFi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi hotspot, GPS with AGPS and GLONASS, NFC, 3.5mm jack, microUSB port, TV Out and USB host. The 5MP camera present in the tablet enables the user to capture good images supporting resolution count of 2592 X 1944 pixels. The picture quality is further enhanced with the features like AF, Geo tagging, touch focus, face detection, best faces feature and image stabilization. Along with pictures the camera is also capable of full HD 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second. The presence of 1.3 MP front facing camera further facilitates video calls. Additional specifications of the device include 16/32GB of internal storage, microSD card slot, 4600 mAh battery, proximity sensor, gyro sensor, accelerometer sensor, Nature UX, reading mode, multi-format music player, video player, document viewer and others. The company has confirmed that in US, the WiFi only version of the device will be made available and its global launch is expected to be in the second quarter of the year. Pricing details are not yet revealed by the company.
