Just after the announcement of its latest 4G LTE processor, Tegra 4i, NVIDIA has come out with its reference Smartphone for its new platform and the company has named it “Phoenix”. The reference platform will work as a blueprint that can be used by various manufacturers in order to design and build their own handsets which will be based on Tegra 4i. Various specifications that will be incorporated in NVIDIA Phoenix will include quad core A9 based CPU , NVIDIA’s “ Chimera” camera technology, 60 GeForce GPUs, NVIDIA’s programmable i500 modem core, 5 inches of display with 1080p resolution, 8mm of chassis thickness, 4G LTE support and latest Android OS.
The Tegra 4i is the first fully integrated 4G LTE processor of the company and the chip features 60 GPU cores, NVIDIA’s i500 LTE modem and quad core 2.3 GHz CPU. As compared to its competitors, Tegra 4i is half of the size and is capable of delivering 2.7 times more power efficiency. The latest chip will enable the manufacturer to offer more efficient devices and that too in a small frame.
The chip will provide advanced photography experience with its features like tap to track, HDR (High Dynamic Range) capabilities and HDR driven panoramic photos. In Barcelona next week, the company will show off its new platform at Mobile World Congress.
