If you believe that you know all about the Windows Phone 8 offered by Nokia then think again for a moment. This Wednesday the company has unveiled two new Windows phone for the Lumia series. The first one is the Lumia 620 that will be a budget phone and other is the Lumia 920T which is the TD-SCDMA version of its Lumia 920 phone that would be the first windows 8 phone available in China on the China Mobile Network. With this new alliance, the Finnish company is looking forward to make a place for itself in the Chinese market which is apparently one of the biggest smart phone markets of the world. Let us look at the specifications of both.
The Lumia 620 will sport a 3.8” clearback display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The phone is a successor of the Lumia 601 that was launched in February 2012. Though both the phones fall in the same price category, the new version has noticeable improvements. While the Lumia 610 was powered by a single core Snapdragon S1 processor with 256 MB RAM, the Lumia 620 has a dual core Snapdragon S4 chipset clocked at 1 GHz along with 512 MB RAM. The phone has 8 GB of internal storage but this time Nokia has included a micro SD slot to increase it. Coming to cameras, it will have a 5 megapixel rear camera with a LED flash. Along with a front VGA camera and users are bound to get some exclusive camera features. The phone will be available with apps like Nokia Maps, Cinema Graph and Music out of the box.
The company has not specifies much about the Lumia 920T because it is quite similar to Lumia 920 except that it supports China’s TD-SCDMA standard. The handset will have a 4.5 inch high definition plus screen with a 1280 X 768 pixel resolution. It will be supported by a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Dual Core Snapdragon S4 Processor with 1 GB RAM. There is no specifications about its storage but is expected that it will have the same 32 GB on board storage like the international version. It will also have two cameras; the rear camera is an 8 megapixel pure view camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and feature like auto focus and optical image stabilization. It also has a front 1.3 megapixel camera that enables you to complete your video calls easily. The 2000 mAh battery is also impressive and the phone supports the latest technology of wireless charging.
The Nokia Lumia 620 would be available at a price of $249 in Asia, Europe and the Middle East which makes not only the cheapest phone in the Lumia series but also the cheapest Windows 8 phone in the market till now. It will then be shipped to other regions gradually. No official statement is available about when it will be shipped in the US. It will be shipped in seven different colors i.e. black, white, green, cyan, orange, yellow and magenta but it is not clear if all the colors are available in every region. On the other hand, the Nokia Lumia 920T will be available in four colors i.e. red, white, yellow, and black for 4,599 Yuan that is equal to $740 approximately. Both the phones will be launched in the first quarter of 2013 in the markets.
