Lenovo Thinkpad Twist Windows 8 Laptop Review – Specs, Features & Price

Putting a literal twist on the way both laptops and tablets work, Lenovo’s new Thinkpad Twist is a must have! Its sleek design, unique rotating screen, sexy specs, and affordable price is fantastic, but how does it stand up to the stiff laptop and tablet competition already out on the market? Let’s take a closer look below at the new Twist that went on sale today with a starting price of $849!

First off, we have to address the screen. As stated earlier this Lenovo Thinkpad Twist is a sexy combination of a tablet and a laptop. Simply open up the screen like a normal laptop and use it that way, or take the screen and twist it to whatever angle you want! Additionally you can even twist it all the way around and fold the screen back down with the picture side up so it converts right into a tablet. This nifty new feature, as seen in a previous Lenovo product (the Yoga) is a huge hit and perfect for businessmen and students alike!

Now let’s delve deeper into the specifications on this new Thinkpad. Equipped with the new Windows 8 operating system this 12.5 inch laptop will, as stated earlier, have a very affordable price tag of $849. Thankfully you get your money’s worth here. The Lenovo Thinkpad Twist has a battery life that lasts up to seven hours, weighs just under 3.5 pounds, and is exactly 0.79 inches thick. Additionally it comes with a nice Gorilla glass display that has an anti-smudge feature perfect for when you convert it back and forth between laptop and tablet.

Inside this little twist laptop is an Intel core CPU that originally comes with an i3, but can go up to the i7 which will obviously cost more with each upgrade. Next the screen resolution is an impressive 1366 x 768 and, when tested, the screen is very responsive in any screen position whether it be in laptop, tablet, or somewhere in between!

Overall this new Lenovo Thinkpad Twist is a definite upgrade from the Yoga, but is no Macbook Pro both in price and features. While it is a lot more affordable than a Mac, it lacks the iconic style of those Apple laptops that really make them stand out in the crowd. Additionally this little twist is a bit on the chunky side for a 12.5 inch laptop, but is not so heavy that it is too cumbersome. Despite the flaws, and because of its truly unique design, this is definitely the perfect laptop for students, businessmen and women, and almost anyone who wants a flexible device that fits their needs!
