Huawei Ascend P2 Android 4.1 Phone is Now Official – Specs, Features & Price

Huawei has recently announced its flagship smartphone called Huawei Ascend P2 that will prove to be an apt choice for all those users who wish to have a perfect combination of power as well as looks.  Physically measuring 136.2 X 66.7 X 8.4mm in size, the phone is a slim device and has a weight of around 122 grams.  The plastic body of the phone further makes the handset light and easy to carry.  The IPS LCD capacitive touch screen present in the phone measures 4.7 inches in size and is made up of Corning Gorilla Glass 2 that provides prevention from scratches and other damages.  Though the 720p display is not full HD but it is capable of delivering bright and clear content through its support to 312ppi pixel density, 500 nits brightness, 71% of standard NTSC color gamut, 85 degrees of viewing angle and 1000:1 contrast ratio.  The “Magic Touch” feature of the display offers good responsiveness to the screen so that it can be used with finger nails and gloves as well.

Ascend P2 is powered by company’s homebrew quad core K3V2 SoC processor that is clocked at 1.5GHz and features Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS along with 1GB RAM and Huawei’s custom Emotion UI v 1.6.  The company also claims that Huawei Ascend P2 is the fastest smartphone as it provides LTE Cat-4 support that offers speed of 150Mbps.  Another impressive specification of the device is its 13 MP of snapper that comes along with AF, LED Flash, HDR, face detection, smile detection and Geo Tagging feature so as to capture perfect shot of all your memorable moments. The camera is also capable of 1080p video recording at the speed of 30 frames per second.  The dedicated camera key in the phone further makes it easy for the users to capture images with just a click of a button. For facilitating video calling with loved ones, 1.3 MP of secondary front camera is present that also support 720p video recording at 30fps.

If you need to share data with other compatible devices then Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP+EDR feature can be used. Other connectivity options are GPRS, NFC, 3G with HSPA, EDGE, WiFi b/g/n and microUSB 2.0.  Music lovers can now enjoy their favorite tracks even when they are out through multi-format music player and FM Radio. The phone comes packed with Li-ion 2420 mAh of battery that is capable of providing good talk time and around 310 hours of standby time.  As compared to the other smartphones this latest model has 25% reduced consumption of power and charging time due to the presence of power saving technologies of the company like Automates Discontinuous Reception (ADRX) and Quick Power Control (QPC).

Additional list of specifications that comes packed with the device include Dolby Mobile Plus Sound enhancement, 16GB internal memory, accelerometer sensor, compass, proximity sensor, gyro sensor, HTML 5 Browser, SNS integration, video player, organizer and others. The phone will be available in color options of Black and White and will be launched in the Q2 of the year with an approximate starting price tag of $526.
