It wasn’t long back that HTC has made an official statement that it will roll out the android version 4.1.1 jelly bean update for one of its most happening handsets, the HTC One X and soon enough it was available in the market. Taiwan was the first country to receive the update in October and the others were holding their breaths to receive the same. However, the long awaited update is finally available in the international markets as well. The phone was launched with the ICS 4.0 version that was upgraded to 4.0.4 later on and now one can upgrade it to Jelly Bean.
The company has confirmed that the update has been rolled out for the Asian and the European markets, but there is a catch. The update is still not available for all the handsets; instead one can update only selected devices based on their CID. So, if you have CID_038 or CID_044 then you can check for your update. The owners who have handsets bought from different carriers will have to wait a little longer. They might receive an update this month or the coming month. Similarly, the AT&T one X owners in the US might receive an update anytime.
The new update will introduce a lot of new and exciting features like the Google voice assistant also known as Google Now (just like Apple’s SIRI) along with enhanced performance. Once, you start using it you will feel the change yourself. One can update it over the air. One will have to download a small supporting file of 1.6 MB before the main installation file that sizes 364.5 MB. Along with Jelly Bean one will also get to use the new HTC Sense 4+ interface.
