KDDI will after all be the first one on the block as it has just confirmed that it will be introducing the HTC J Butterfly (HTL21), which is tagged as the first ever smartphone that comes with a 5-inch display with 1080p screen resolution. There were earlier speculations that Verizon will be the first one to come out with this kind of HTC slate, but it looks like this distinction will go to its Japanese counterpart.

The branding for this HTC Android gadget will be anchored on its bigger screen display, which is a first under this niche. This translates to faster response time and a multi-tasking experience sans the annoying lag time. The HTC Android device will roll out preloaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This is boosted by HTC Sense 4.1 customization, which provides for that familiar environment and experience associated to HTC. It will also roll out with a 16GB internal memory plus an option for memory expansion of 32GB through its microSD card slot.
The HTC J Butterfly also touts an 8MP rear-facing camera which boasts of high-end image capabilities as well a high-definition 1080p video recording functionality. This is matched by a 2MP front-facing camera, which is perfect for face-to-face communication and video conferencing through the Hangouts at Google +. The HTC device also comes with other features which include NFC, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as well as other applications through Google Play Store. This IPX5-rated gadget tips the scale at 140 grams and is dubbed as a global gadget in several aspects.
