BlackBerry R10 – The Red Curve Successor

Not a long ago we told you about the affordable mid-range series that BlackBerry is about to launch. Of course the company will not defect its traditions and equip the handset with full physical QWERTY keyboard. As we said, BlackBerry fans might expect the official unveil of R-series somewhere in the middle of this year. According to some other rumors, the device might adopt the name of R10, at least this is how most people on internet are calling it.

The image below presents the device itself. Also pay attention to the featured image, as can notice there the color is red, which is a bit unusual for BlackBerry, having in mind all of their previous “darker” color gammas for their devices. There is also a white device that can be seen on the back of the photo, so we can guess there are going to be a few more colors available. However, if we are willing to trust analysts, what we see on the picture is not an actual device but dummy unit. Nevertheless, the dummy unit itself is an actual model and look-a-like of the device, so you can be sure that the original is going to be more or less the same in terms of design.

Unfortunately the device will be made of plastic, which can be considered as disappointing keeping under consideration all the latest tendencies in smartphone design and built quality. There are still a couple of months until BlackBerry R10 is going to be released officially, so let’s not exclude the idea of manufacturers changing some things.  As a conclusion we should add that the device is not as good in terms of hardware and performance as Q10, but at least it is quite affordable, so if you don’t want to spend a small fortune for a device, you can get R10 – it combines both quality and great features.
