ASUS Padfone Infinity Android 4.1 Smartphone Announced Officially – Specs, Features & Price

ASUS has taken off the wraps from its latest smartphone called ASUS Padfone Infinity at the ongoing MWC in Barcelona. This latest model which is the 3rd member to the family of PadFone devices comes packed with impressive features and great looks and can also be considered as a phone-tablet hybrid docking device.  Measuring 143.5 X 72.8 X 8.9mm in size, the phone looks slim and its aluminum uni-body which comes along with design of brushed metal back cover and diamond cut edges makes it look smart.   There is 5 inches of Super IPS+LCD capacitive touch screen in the phone that is made up of Corning Gorilla Glass and features multi-touch up to 10 fingers. The display offers bright contents through its support to 441 ppi, 1080 X 1920 pixels resolution and 16M colors.  The phone can be docked into the PadFone Infinity Station so as to convert it into a 10.1 inches of Full HD tablet which is surely one of the most striking specifications of this device.  The Infinity Station features IPS display that supports 1920 X 1200 pixels resolution along with 400nit brightness.  Along with the 2400 mAh of battery that is present within Padfone Infinity, the station comes packed with its own 5000 mAh battery.

The power to the phone is provided by Quad Core 1.7GHz Krait Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor that comes along with Adreno 320 GPU, Android OS with 4.1 Jelly Bean version, 2GB RAM and internal memory options of 32/64GB so as to provide smooth performance while working with various applications. For connectivity the device has decent options including LTE, NFC, GPRS, WiFi a/ac/b/g/n, EDGE, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and microUSB 2.0 with USB Host.  For capturing impressive and detailed images, the phone features 13MP camera that comes along with f/2.05 element lens, AF, LED Flash, Touch Focus, Geo Tagging, face detection and 1080p video recording at 30fps.  The dedicated image signal processor present in the phone is capable of enhancing the image quality in low light and can also take up to 100 sequential pictures at 8fps and at the same time record the full 1080p HD videos.  The videos can also be recorded through micro-USB compatible MyDP interface.  For video chatting a front 2 MP camera is also present.

Padfone Infinity

Multi-format music player and FM Radio are present to provide musical entertainment to its users.  The Audio Wizard feature of the phone enables the user to create their own audio landscape where modes for music, games and movies can be selected for enhanced experience.  The speech mode provides powerful and clear voice whereas high quality recording of voice can be done with the recording mode. Now with ASUS Padfone Infinity you will not have to synchronize your data between the phone and the tablet as the settings as well as the data on the phone will be instantly made available on the Infinity Station when the phone is docked.  So you will have to simply dock the phone and the applications and other contents will get reformatted so as to fit on the bigger display.

Various ASUS applications come along with the handset including SuperNote 3.1, ASUS Echo, Story and others.  The battery of the phone supports around 19 hours of 3G talk time and when docked to the Infinity Station, the time increases to 40 hours. The built in battery of the Infinity station is capable of fully charging the phone up to 3 times. Additional specifications of Padfone Infinity include push email facility, HTML 5 browser, SNS integration, video player, TV out and others.  The phone is expected to be launched in color options of Hot Pink, Titanium Grey and Champagne Gold. The asus android phone price list at £ 799 (now as low as $499 on Amazon) but the details regarding its availability are not revealed.
